VOTUS Scholarship for Children or Spouses of Deceased Military or Veterans

The veteran of the United States (VOTUS) Scholarship was established by Sandi Jones in 2017, with gratitude and in memory of the family members who served during World War II: Robert B. Jones (US Army Air Corps), husband; Linton L. Lambert (US Army), father; Edward H. Henning (US Army), uncle; Ralph O. Henning (US Army), uncle; and Harold Gellert (US Navy), uncle; and to all who gave their lives so that we can sleep nights knowing we are free and safe. With thanks and in honor of Lawrence L. Lambert (US Air Force), brother, and to all active and veteran military who gave themselves, the people of Macomb salute you. The scholarship is available for veterans of the United States or for the spouses and/or children of deceased military members or veterans of the United States meeting at least the following criteria:

  • half-time enrollment (6 credit hours) or more
  • minimum GPA 2.5 (high school or college)
  • award is for $1,000 per year for tuition, fees and books and other educational expenses
  • applicants must provide a brief summary of their educational goals and how this scholarship will impact them
