Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan Scholarship

Established to provide financial assistance for Macomb Community College students who struggle to enter or return to education due to economic hardship, domestic violence, divorce, lack of spousal support, single parenthood, or difficult life-changing transitions. Also considered would be students re-entering the workforce after a period of no employment or under-employment and those seeking retraining.

• half-time (6 credit hours or more) each semester of award
• minimum GPA 2.5 each semester of award
• must submit a 250-word essay describing how this scholarship will help the applicant overcome a challenge or difficult time in their life and how it will help them achieve their educational goals
• award is for tuition, fees, books, and other educational expenses excluding room and board
• Prior recipients may re-apply for the award each year, provided the student meets the criteria stated above
