Katherine L. Grenda and Donald N. Ritzenhein Endowed Scholarship for Students in the Arts

The Grenda & Ritzenhein scholarship is designed for students who wish to pursue any number of arts disciplines. Research shows that students with a solid Liberal Arts background excel in a wide range of employment opportunities and careers because they have the ability to develop and critique situations that involve speaking, listening, writing, history, humanities, and the human condition. Such wisdom promotes a passion for improving humanity and the world.
• open to students pursuing a degree in Speech Communication, Humanities, or Social Science disciplines
• incoming high school and transfer students are eligible
• half-time enrollment (6 credit hours or more)
• minimum GPA 2.5 each semester of award
• award may be renewed each academic year, upon reapplication, as long as qualifications are maintained
• applicants must submit a 250-300 word essay, “Why I want to pursue a college education in speech communication, humanities, or one of the social science disciplines.”
• award is for tuition, fees, books, and college-related expenses
