Nina Zevlever and Fira Friedman Memorial Scholarship for Working Students

This scholarship was established in memory of Nina Zevlever and Fira Friedman to provide financial assistance to Macomb Community College students enrolled in a STEM-related career program. While not having the opportunity to attend college themselves, both Nina and Fira instilled the value of education in their respective children and grandchildren. To commemorate their lives dedicated to helping others, this scholarship is intended to assist dedicated students juggling work and school responsibilities achieve their educational goals.

  • half-time enrollment (6 credits or more) each semester of award
  • must have completed at least 12 credit hours at Macomb Community College
  • enrolled in a STEM program
  • preference given to students working full-time. Letter from student’s employer verifying full-time work status is required
  • minimum 3.3 GPA required. Award based on merit. Applicant with the highest GPA will be given preference
  • award is for tuition, fees, and other educational expenses
  • award can be used toward credit or non-credit courses
