Andrew Stephen Meek Memorial Scholarship

Established in memory of Andrew (Drew) S. Meek who graduated from Macomb Community College in May 2001, with a 3.8 GPA. After barely graduating from high school and dropping out of a community college in Arizona, a belief in himself and motivation from instructors at Macomb propelled Andrew toward achieving academic success. Continuing his education at Michigan State University, Drew graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Drew eventually became a secondary education teacher in Social Studies where he instilled the value and love of learning in his students. Andrew passed away before ever achieving his full potential. He will always be remembered for his profound, thought-provoking conversations, his love of books, and encouraging others to get an education. This scholarship will be used to assist students who desire a post-secondary education but lack the funds to achieve their educational goals.
