Building the Future of the Forging Industry Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the Forging Industry Educational and Research Foundation to provide financial support to students enrolled in an Engineering or Manufacturing credit or non-credit program applicable to metalworking at Macomb Community College.

  • minimum GPA 2.5 each semester of award
  • must be enrolled in an Engineering or Manufacturing credit or non-credit program applicable to metalworking at Macomb Community College including:
    Credit programs
    o Applied Technology Advanced Processes
    o Climate Control Technology
    o CAM Technologist
    o CNC Machining
    o Digital Sculptor (Product Development)
    o Machining
    o Maintenance Mechanic – Building or Industrial
    o Maintenance Technology
    o Manufacturing Engineering
    o Manufacturing Technology
    o Mechatronics
    o Millwright
    o Mold Maker
    o Product Development
    o Quality Technology
    o Robotics
    o Sheet Metal
    o Stationary Steam
    o Tool & Die
    o Welding
    Non-credit programs
    o Robot Technician
    o Maintenance Technician
  • award is based on merit and does not require student to demonstrate financial need
  • if selected, the recipient(s) agree to work with Macomb’s Career Services office to successfully complete the following additional donor requirements:
    *Fundamental of Forging” online course
    *Tour an FIA Member forging plant
  • awards are renewable for one-year contingent upon the following requirements:
    *availability of funds
    *student continues to meet eligibility criteria
    *student must submit a new scholarship application each year
