Laura K. Osaer, D.O. Memorial Endowed Scholarship for the Sciences

Established in memory of Laura K. Osaer, D.O. a bright, driven student whose love, compassion and generosity for others was immeasurable. Her life was tragically cut short by a car accident during her final year of medical school. In April 2020, Laura was posthumously awarded her medical degree by The Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. A lifelong resident of Macomb County, Laura took courses at Macomb Community College during high school and participated in Science Olympiad tournaments hosted annually on Macomb’s campus. Family and friends established this scholarship to share in her memory to continue her legacy of helping others and supporting a student who is passionate about science and learning.

  • half-time enrollment (6 credit hours or more) each semester of award
  • pursuing a degree in a medical or scientific field
  • minimum GPA 3.0 each semester of award
  • exhibit community service by submitting a 250-word essay including the following: community service activities with an explanation of how you plan to serve your community upon graduation
  • optional: letter of recommendation from community service organization
  • award is for tuition, fees and books, and other educational expenses
