Robert and Lillian Tegel Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2015 by Lillian Tegel in memory of her husband, Robert J. Tegel. Robert (“Bob”) Tegel was a metal pattern maker, who got his start in the skilled trade through training at Henry Ford Trade School in the 1950’s. Because of his training, and his strong work ethic, Bob obtained employment that not only enabled him to provide for his family, but also utilize his talents and creativity. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to Macomb Community College students enrolled in the Applied Technology & Apprenticeship Program, who emulates the work ethic and creativity of Bob Tegel.
- half-time enrollment (6 credits or more) in Engineering & Advanced Technology each semester of award
- minimum GPA 2.0 each semester of award
- preference to Macomb County residents
- applicant must provide a brief summary of their educational and career goals (up to 200 words)
- letter of reference from a prior/current teacher
- award is for tuition, books, fees, and educational expenses
