POLC Robert Figurski Police Academy Scholarship

On August 13, 1993, Richard Weiler started the union organization known as the Police Officers Labor Council (POLC). Subsequently, scholarships were awarded by the POLC through the Law Enforcement Education Program (LEEP) to Macomb Community College Police Academy cadets to achieving their public safety education and training goals. In May 2023, Robert Figurski, director of the POLC retired, and the scholarship was renamed the POLC Figurski Police Academy Scholarship in his honor.

Applications will be reviewed by Macomb’s Police Academy scholarship committee and one police cadet will be awarded from each academy class as the scholarship committee deems worthy.
