English for Academic Purposes Scholarship

Established in memory of Dennis Thompson, who came to the Macomb Community College in the Fall of 1966 and retired in Spring of 2007. Dennis was the founding faculty member of EAPP (English for Academic Purposes) and Basic Education faculty with the English department at South Campus. He took great pride in his work and the success of Macomb students. This scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students who are non-native speakers of English or those students who need to improve their English skills to help them succeed in college and achieve their goals.

• half-time enrollment (6 credit hours or more) at time of application
• currently enrolled in any of the English for Academic Purposes (EAPP) courses
• minimum GPA 2.0 at time of application (high school transcripts accepted for first year students)
• award is for tuition, fees, books, and other educational expenses
