Margaret Anderson Scholarship
Established by the S. Gary Spicer, Sr. Foundation, this scholarship is to honor Margaret Anderson for her dedication to teaching Economics at Macomb Community College. This scholarship will assist Macomb Community College students who wish to pursue their studies in Economics, Business, or Finance. Margaret attended Macomb Community College and received her Associate Degree in General Studies in 1992 and an Associate Degree in Applied Science in 1993, then transferred to Walsh on full scholarship and earned a Bachelor’s in Business Management and Master’s in Economics. After graduation, she became a Financial Consultant and continued in that work. Building on her professional experience, Margaret broke new ground in 2004 by becoming the first female adjunct faculty member in Economics at Macomb, entering a role traditionally underrepresented by women. In 2024, she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, which further renewed her commitment to teaching and mentoring. Her unwavering dedication continues to inspire Macomb students as they pursue their academic and career aspirations.
